This is a sample page. It differs from a blog article because it stays in a fixed position and appears in the site navigation (in most themes). Many people start with an information page that introduces them to potential visitors. Which might say something like this:

Hi. I'm a pony express by day, an aspiring actor by night, and this is my blog. I live in Los Angeles, have a beautiful dog named Jack, and love piña coladas. (And finding myself in the rain).

...or something like that:

The XYZ Doohickey Company was founded in 1971 and has been selling quality doohickeys to its customers ever since. Located in Gotham City, XYZ employs over 2,000 people and produces the most amazing things for the Gotham community.
